Postpartum Chiropractic Care

Supporting Healing During the Postpartum Period

After giving birth, your body needs care and support as it recovers.

We specialize in postpartum chiropractic care and can help support your body’s natural ability to heal and adjust after having a baby.

During delivery, your body releases relaxin to help your joints become more mobile. This effect lasts for months and is extended while breastfeeding. When your joints are more elastic, chiropractic care can help keep your body in better alignment so it heals correctly.

It’s common for moms to feel pain or discomfort during the postpartum period. We often see moms with pelvic pain, sciatica, reduced range of motion, neck and back pain, and more.

Our specialized treatment remains safe and highly effective in helping you heal after pregnancy. By addressing joint and muscular restrictions, our ultimate goal is to restore balance to the spine and pelvis, alleviate discomfort, and support healing in the postpartum period.

Dr. Amber and Dr. Malia are extensively trained with the expertise to care for you postpartum.

Our doctors are among the most highly trained chiropractors in Boulder, CO, for pregnancy, postpartum, and infant care and are certified through the ICPA.

When should I come in for my first postpartum appointment?

We’ve seen moms hours after delivery and we’ve seen them months afterwards. Every mom, baby, and labor is different.

Our recommendation is: when you feel safe leaving the house (physically and mentally), we’re ready to see you.

If you aren’t hurting, we recommend a visit within one month following delivery.

If you’re experiencing severe tailbone pain, pubic symphysis pain, or other discomfort, we recommend a visit within 2 weeks following delivery. We have a variety of pillows, bolsters and table setups to accommodate a C-section incision, tender breast tissue, a sore lower back and more.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care during the postpartum period include:
